Right. >Can you say "kernel bloat"? I knew you could. Especially since "trying" is the right word. They basically failed for SunOS 4.0, although rumor hath it that 4.1 is somewhat better. We were amazed -- among other emotions -- when our 4MB 3/180 paged like mad supporting a load that our 2MB pdp11/44 had kept in memory with room to spare.
