While LHarc gets similar compression ratios (because it uses a similar compression scheme), and, yes, it does fit in one program rather than three (something I've often found annoying with PKZip), it also takes 2-3 times as long to run, and doesn't get a fraction of the author support that PKZip does. Upon further thinking, I actually should suggest PAK 2.10. It gets similar compression ratios to the two mentioned above, it's about as fast as PKZip (sometimes a little slower; sometimes a little faster), it's supported, it's fully customizable, it's used by the Shareware Distribution Network (something any serious PC freak should be familiar with), and it even displays a little bar graph of its progress [B-)].
