Readers might be interested to know that VMX holds a (dubious) patent on voice mail systems. They sue just about everyone who makes voice mail and demands payment. Most companies don't have the legal weight to fight them in court... VMX is an enormous company. Strangely enough, VMX chose not to sue IBM/Rolm over voice mail years ago...
