I'm currently running a cross-compiled Forth for the 8051 which uses the serial port for as the terminal for interactive debugging. Virtual disks are supported on the PC but I don't use the feature. I cross-compile then load a ROM emulator or burn an EPROM for the target. This would be a minimum requirement for the 8096 system. Does your kernel support a PC host for debugging? Is there a compiler (interpreter) in the target kernel? Would it be best to buy manual? Thanks for your help.
