Lucids compiler seems to produce faster code. Possibly you are sacreficing debug, but I haven't worked with them both enough to say for sure. A big big factor for us: Allegro (Franz) will sell you the source code. Lucid won't. That pretty much prevents us from getting Lucid. (sorry L/Sun). We develop too many local debugging hacks to be able to live without source...
