Keywords: From: Message-ID: <1990Feb21.153803.16819@diku.dk> Date: 21 Feb 90 15:38:03 GMT Distribution: comp Organization: Department Of Computer Science, University Of Copenhagen Lines: 34 Hello, I have a problem with my Excelan 3.5 mailer: Whenever I send something to another host, the From: header is no good. Suppose f.x. I am logged in as root on host "fek" and mail something My mailer then produces the header: From: root When it should be: From: root@fek The result is that the first host to se the From: header appends its own name, like this: From root@ And then the message is actually presented to the recipient as coming from root on that other host, which is clearly wrong. I have read the manual countless times, and tried lots of things: setting OMIT_SELF to TRUE setting TRY_OMISSION to FALSE and so on, but nothing seems to do the trick. If you are able to say "Aha, the poor guy just needs to ...", please respond. -- - Ole, === Free Robert Morris Jr, ===
