    I am searching for information about some computer companies
     in the US for general purposes so I can learn more about the
     software industry.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      I would like to find out...
   1) where the company is located and who the president/CEO is?
   2) how long the company has been around (and if it is profitable)?
   3) if it is a public company and, if so, which stock exchange it
       is on (and possibly its abbreviation)?
   4) the size of the company and percentage of technical/sales/support
       staff there is?
   5) any other interesting notes about the company (and its history)?

        .....
      The companies am I trying to find info on are:
   a) Gateway Computers - computer retailer
   b) ASK Computer Corp - (might not be correct name, I have no reference)
   c) Data I/O Corp -|
                     |- What is there relation? Is Zortech a company?
   d) Zortech -------|        All I know is Redmond, WA    (hello Walter?)
   e) Watcom - producer of compilers

       ....
     Note that this is NOT a job search but an inquiry for information.  Also
      if there is a better place to post this or look for information, I'd 
      appreciate suggestions.
