mined1.c as reposted by ast contains some junk around line 10.
The offending line is:
 *    Mined is a screen editor designed for the MINIX operating <UBem.
And the junk is                                                 ^^^
This junk contained a nonprintable character which is stripped off
by mail/news. If you replace the junk with the text "syst" so that it
reads operating system you'll have a perfect mined1.c, although with a
wrong crc value. My crc value after correction is:
 44903  60751 mined1.c
Note that the mined1.c as reposted does not match the crc's as send out
either.....

Good luck. (or use elvis: once you get used to the name (quite hard for
a Beatle fan) it is quite a good editor for vi addicts).
