Lines: 28 We desire to establish email between our MacII and our Unix network. We recently setup a Kinetics Fastpath box and installed CAP (columbia appletalk package) on our system. I know of two commercial solutions to the email problem: - Inbox (from the TOPS people at Sun), but it currently does not convert to SMTP, which is a necessity. It is also expensive (~$1000) considering that we only want to connect one Mac. - GatorMail (which uses the Gatorbox, which we don't have)... it DOES convert to SMTP, but it too is around $1000. Also, I believe Gatormail is only the mail converter, and that it operates with three different mail programs on the mac. Surely people have solved this problem before. Are there any cheaper solutions than the $1000 alternative (e.g. PD stuff?). Or even some PD mail converters that work with Quickmail(?). Email is appreciated, as I am not a regular reader of these newsgroups. thanks! -- dan haug ==================================================================== Phonenet: (512)338-2450 Internet: execu!sequoia!meritaus!dan@cs.utexas.edu UUCP: {uunet, cs.utexas.edu!execu, texbell}!sequoia!meritaus!dan ``When all you have is a hammer, everything begins to look like a nail.''
