I'm trying to figure out how to make a ethernet to SLIP gateway out of a Sparcstation. I've done it with a MS-DOS PC and KA9Q, which just requires defining the network interfaces, and saying 'that IP-adress is behind me, i'll take the packet'. Thist is called arp publish. Although I have been reading documentation on gated ( newest possible ), and proxyarpd I haven't found out exactly how to do it. I'm hoping someone on the net already has done this ? Oh yes, I must mention that I do not want to allocate a subnet for this single SLIP-system. And until now I haven't had a reason to run either routed or gated. Please respond either by news or by mail, in which case I will make a summary, if interest is shown by anyone.
