Well, I must buy the Hard-Drive itself, right. I also need a SCSI-Controller (Host-adapter) : I have got a CBM-2090a. What I need to know is: must I low-level-format the Drive, or is PREP and FORMAT even enough ? If not, how can I do it ? Somebody told me I cannot prep/format such a drive with interleave 1:1, if so: 1) why not ? 2) what means this (for performance) ? 3) how can I do it (if this is neccesary for good perf.) ? I want to buy either a NewberryData or IMPACT SCSI HD ( a great one: 280-380MB ||) I have - ehem will have - room enough for it, (tower, you know), but what must I do to use such a thing ? I am currently using a Seagate MFM-Drive (41MB), but where are the differents ( at the installation, the others I do know ;-) |) Well, I need such a great one, because I am planning to upgrade my Ami to U**x (Release-Date: 29.Feb.1991 ???), so if there are any known difficulties with the 2090a, do I have to upgrade to the 2091 also ? (I am NOT as rich as I can afford the System now, but "Amiga, compatible to the Future |", isnt it ?) Any Help would be very (,very) nice | Thanx in adv. , Walter. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = Walter Mildenberger : Bitnet: = = UUCP : not yet (try Gateways to Bitnet) = =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= FROM Trashcan IMPORT DISCLAIMER;
