My problem is I keep getting a code. No bad sectors, no data errors, just the sense $11. It happens on maybe one or two tracks on two (out of five) partitions, but it makes me wonder if something might be wrong. Incidentally, it's always in the same place, so that rules out cable errors or such. Anyone know what this means? The Adaptec 4070 manual says something about an "unrecoverable data field error" or some such nonsense, but I have yet to lose any data whatsoever, even after performing repeated read-write-verify cycles on some of the sectors in question. BTW, why are all the tracks initialized to "lllllllll"...? Bill White bwhite@oucsace.cs.ohiou.edu
