It is a "snapshot" of the Mac desktop, transferred to a mainframe VAX via Kermit and then over our local ethernet to the VAXstation via FTP. Image is then run through a filter program and into Interleaf technical publishing software, but it is getting screwed up in the transmission process. I was told that when transferring Mac binaries I should covert them tohex first (BINHEX it in Mac parlance), but I need to be able to convert it back once it gets to the VAXstation.
