OK, if some people are thinking about creating a new newsgroup (about 50% of the replies seem to favor this), then someone with knowledge of this process should hold a vote. Although I am not really in favor of creating/renaming to an hp handheld group, I think a vote at this point is worthwhile to keep this discussion from tying up the newsgroup. The vote should settle the disagreements for a while.
