Keywords: Use extended memory as expanded? Message-ID: <432@adiron.UUCP> Date: 20 Feb 90 20:05:41 GMT Distribution: usa Organization: PAR Technology, New Hartford, NY Lines: 21 We are using three configurations of PCs in our publications department: + IBM Model 60, VGA + IBM 7532 (industrial AT), CGA + AT clones (Bentley is the name, we suspect they have gone south), CGA When any unit is powered up, the RAM test counts to 1024 kbytes of memory. Visual inspection reveals that all RAM is installed on the motherboard (no memory boards are installed). Questions: 1) Is the memory beyond 640 k extended memory? 2) We want to use this memory for Ventura 2.0 which supports expanded memory. Will any of the following SIMTEL utilities allow this? EMSIM.ARC (use Extended memory as Expanded memory) EMS40.ARC (Driver: use extended memory as EMS 4.0 memory) EMMRAM21.ARC (Expand DOS RAM to 736K w/Enh. or LIM 4.0 mem.) 3) If answer to 2) is no, does anyone have any other ideas?
