I'm not here to slam SUN computers, but ... the ONLY power system
problem I haveever heard about was in a SUN workstation and this
workstation was really f**ked, so it might be something to worry 
about ...

On the other hand, IBM is about as conservative as they come, and the
PS/2 line have rather small power supplies.  I think this may be an
advantage in some instances.  I use a battery backup, and it's only
rated for 325 watts, so I don't really want to hook my monitor AND
the base unit to it (pretty wierd, I should have gotten a bigger one).
