Message-ID: <29249@amdcad.AMD.COM> Date: 21 Feb 90 23:54:38 GMT Sender: news@amdcad.AMD.COM Reply-To: indra@pepsi.amd.com (Indra Singhal) Organization: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. Sunnyvale CA Lines: 17 I am in the starting phases of planning to upgrade my AST Premium/286 10MHz machine by replacing the motherboard. I currently have 2MB on my fastcard in 256Kx100ns chips (512K are soldered) and 4MB in 1Mb DRAMS (not being used). I would like the 386 motherboard I buy to be able to use all (or most) of these chips. [I may be willing to forego the 256K chips]. Anyone out there in netland undertake such (or similar) project with an AST? Their upgrade card is $1300 or so, I know I can do it in about half that if I replace the motherboard. Ideas? [Email please, will summarize if there's interest/volume] Much Thanks. iNDRA | indra@amdcad.AMD.COM (Indra Singhal) (408) 749-5445 | {ames decwrl apple pyramid sun uunet}!amdcad!indra | MS 167; Box 3453; Sunnyvale, CA 94088
