I have been trying to use a program called RCOMM (from SIMTEL) to enable me to download files from a VAX in the background, while doing other stuff on my PC. On the VAX, I have a version of X/YMODEM obtained from SIMTEL, in file RBSB.C. When using YMODEM to send files in batch mode, while this usually works, sometimes it screws up. Either a file gets truncated, or else the received file is only vaguely similar to the original. Bits get transposed, repeated etc. All the while, RCOMM is beeping at me about a data communication error. Since the problems are repeatable (the same thing occurs every time when a file transfer doesn't work), there must be some problem with the YMODEM transfer. Does anyone have any suggestions?
