I have a MS WORD doc file that uses a format as follows:

1    this is a word paragraph that has a NUMBER then a TAB then a bush
     of text like this ahsdk;h sd;hsd sd;hsd sd';hds';sd sd'hsd'hsd  'h
     ;shdf;hsd;   f;'hs'fjh'ag'hg'h......and more text.

2    this is the second paragraph with more text 'j'j'gj dfgjlkgl  slglsd
     dslglsdglgsd;fh;sfd;hdsf ;'hh;sdf;hs ;hsdf;hs;sdf;h;sha;has hsadh;
     sdlgls;dggsd;;sd;h.....and more text


my goal is to transfer this file into a text file but keep the exact format
in terms of tabs and line feeds, etc..
When I saved the file as text or text with line feeds the format is lost
and the paragraphs looks like this:

1    this is a word paragraph that has a NUMBER then a TAB then a bush
of text like this ahsdk;h sd;hsd sd;hsd sd';hds';sd sd'hsd'hsd  'h
;shdf;hsd;   f;'hs'fjh'ag'hg'h......and more text.
2    this is the second paragraph with more text 'j'j'gj dfgjlkgl  slglsd
dslglsdglgsd;fh;sfd;hdsf ;'hh;sdf;hs ;hsdf;hs;sdf;h;sha;has hsadh;
sdlgls;dggsd;;sd;h.....and more text

As one can see that the paragraph margins are lost and the line between
the paragraph are lost also.

is there a way, so that the lines are padded with blank characters to
keep the same format? any suggestions?
