Subject: Can I convert 256 color GIF document to PICT

Does anyone know of a way to capture a 256 color GIF document into a
PICT resource for use as the startup screen?  We've tried using Giffer
and VisionLab which display the GIF document properly on the screen, but
they produce a PICT resource which looks like an 8 color PICT.
