Yes. The "Message-ID:" and "References:" fields are a feature of the News 2.11 software. The former shows the origin and sequence of the netnews article, and the latter provides a means for the netnews software to allow the reader to follow along on a certain topic. You are on the NCR Tower Mailing List, rather than a netnews user, so the fields are practically meaningless. When you send an article to the mailing list, the fields are generated on my machine for conversion to a netnews article. When a netnews article comes in to my machine, it is converted to a mail message to the mailing list. The header fields are not stripped. -- Greg Hackney hack@texbell.swbt.com
