[and a great deal of flaming omitted] I have no idea which workstation offers better value for money, though I expect that rational, factual postings to this forum will help make that clear. But the following statement by M. Giacometti is simply a lie: >Let's make clear than IBM info on their >product should not be relied on (the only info from IBM is on their product: >every IBM employee has signed an agreement where it is specified that non IBM >products should never be specified... There is no such agreement. No IBM employee anywhere in the world was ever told any such thing. Such a requirement would be illegal in the US, and would be profoundly contrary to IBM's corporate policy of "respect for the individual" wherever IBM does business. No such censorship was applied during the years I was employed by IBM in the US and in Europe, and I know from talking to current IBM employees that no such policy has been introduced in the decade since I left. /////// / David Cortesi /////// cortesi@infmx.uu.net ////// ////// // // Science increases our // //// / /// Informix Software // power in proportion as // /// / //// 4100 Bohannon Drive // it lowers our pride. // // / ///// Menlo Park, CA 94025 // -- Claude Bernard // / //////// (415) 926-6300 //// ...pyramid!infmx!cortesi /////
