In this month's Sun Observer there's an article about add-ons for 3/50s.
In discussing RAM, they say (I quote from memory, so take this with a
grain of salt) that Sun didn't want to make a RAM expansion card due to
excess power draw.

Well, guess what expansion I'm thinking about :-).  I have a silly idea --
why not simply power the monitor directly from the wall?  That will
greatly reduce the load on the P/S, including those wonderful surges when
we switch the monitor off every night.
