    According to the documents I've seen AIX 3.0 goes for
       
 $1250-$2000 for 1-2 users                       
 $1250-$5000 for 3-32 users                      
 $2000-$1000 for >32 users

The price range for each group of users reflects the group that the customer
falls into.  I guess this refers to the type of institution(educational,
or commercial)
