Lines: 13 Thanks for all the responses, via mail and postings. As each of you kindly pointed out, the default handler for SIGWINCH is to ignore it (...just as the manual says). It was a classic case of not having my brain engaged that day. The problem we did have was solved after a lunch break the same day in a completely different approach.
