When I try executing clients out of /usr/bin/X11 I get an error that it can't find the shared libraries. The error message looks like this: ld.so: libX11.so.4: not found However, if I go to the client source directory and execute the client, the client executes just fine. Then, I added the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH to be LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/X/mit/lib/Xaw:/usr/X/mit/lib/X: /usr/X/mit/lib/Xau:/usr/X/mit/lib/Xaw: /usr/X/mit/lib/Xmu:/usr/X/mit/lib/Xt Now I was able to execute clients from /usr/X11/bin. However, I still couldn't execute xterm and xload. QUESTIONS: 1) Why am I not able to pick up the installed shared libraries from /usr/lib. 2) Even when I set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH how come all the clients work except xload and xterm. 3) How do I correct this problem.
