While it's true that English is the defacto international language, doesn't it strike you as absurd to try and "make" people use English as the only recognized language in a soc.culture.german group? Perhaps I'm a bit snobish, since I lived there a couple of years and, therefore, know German, but I would never vote for a s.c.g group that banned German as a valid language. What an irony that would be! I doubt there would be many, if any, postings in German anyway but if you can't understand them, skip them. You could even broaden your horizions and learn German.
