Message-ID: <44505@lanl.gov> Date: 26 Feb 90 03:33:38 GMT Distribution: na Organization: Los Alamos National Laboratory Lines: 13 Having access to the USENET news is very valuable to me and I'm happy that it is available here at the Lab. What if I were to move to a small company? What are the available low cost options? (By low cost I mean something reasonable for a small company, say less than $4000.) Modems seem awfully slow to move that much data and you need some cooperating site. An academic site might shy away from a profit-making firm. Are there commercial services? Are there high speed satellite connections for the cost of a TV dish? What other ways can you get high-speed connections? I'm not interested in nitty-gritty details (yet) but just generally what solutions people have found for this problem.
