Hello --

After hearing about the Shuttle launch delay (weather around the
pad, and crewman "under the weather") I was wondering:

	Are there backup crews for STS flights like there were
	for Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, etc. ?  If so, why couldn't
	the backup substitute for the ailing astronaut ?  If there
	aren't backup crews, any rationale as to the elimination of
	this practice ?

I probably have overlooked this on the regular postings of crew manifests,
but ....
