I am reading this book called Lipstick Traces, and it is really neat!
hIt analyses the history of the twentieth century with the idea that
the winterland show of the sex pistols is the crucial event.  It gives
great analysis, like the dada-punk connection, the situationalist
International, certain heretics (there is a description of a John of
Leyton and certain heresys in a german town called Munster in the
Reformation that are amazing!) and I highly recommend it.
