J&MC is a sort of new wave band with lots of feedback... perhaps somewhat similar to early Love & Rockets (though with more distortion and such) or thereabouts. I've heard very little of their work, but their debut (*Psychocandy*) got lots and lots of attention, I believe even including a write-up in TIME Magazine. They've had a few albums since then, and I believe the distortion level and noise level al- together has dropped... from the track I keep hearing from their latest album (*Automatic*), it seems as if they've turned into a more mainstream progressive band... a good but not terribly original sound. Nine Inch Nails is a much newer band; their debut is still around and making waves. Or rather, I should say, HIS debut... the group is basically a one man band. The music, from the tracks I've heard, is basically on the progressive/industrial border : dissonant and noisy at times, but with an overall structure that's more musical than most industrial music is. Apparently the album (*Pretty Hate Machine*) is, to put it lightly, a bit depressing... It sounds like it should be an interesting show, in my opinion. -- Mark
