	CSS is out of business, for the same reason that their clone is
	so close.  They didn't work from a vi "black box", they started
	from proprietary (i.e.- real vi) source code.  They got called
	on it, and didn't survive the resulting settlement.
	(I remember reading somewhere that the actual settlement that
	did them in was for stealing something other than vi, but their
	vi was also a ripoff.)

	I agree with your assessment of Z (I believe it's from Manx).
