That will be a high speed cloesed loop step motor controller. The software should take care of commutation at a rather high rate (several us.) as well as PID (or other kind of filter) computation. I have seen some similar applications using Motorola DSP56001. But I just want to know if there are any more suitable chips for this kind of application.
