I am attempting to write a major mode for the version of gnu emacs we have [18.52.7] that will act like (emulate) WordStar. I thought this would be fairly easy using other modes as examples. No such luck... I have 3 questions: 1- Has anybody done this already (and is willing to offer advice) ?? 2- Is there some arcane set of commands that will let me redefine the the keyboard ONLY for the mode I am trying to write ? 3- Can somebody point me in the direction of the Lisp manual for Gnu Emacs (or offer to mail it to me ? (I can't ftp or uucp it from here)) Could you please send me email ??? Our newsfeed is occasionally flaky... [I've never tried posting news from within Gnu Emacs.... so if it doesn't put my address on the end... besides being OLD...
