Does anybody doubt that PEX will be popular after being released at
the beginning of 1991?

I expected that PEX will popular for one or two years. But when the
speed of computer networks becomes much faster than they are now, a
graphics server may emerge, which quickly makes graphics images and
sends the image data to a low-cost bitmap display. If this becomes
true, PEX will become obsolute.
