The devps package from Pipeline Associates supports downloadable fonts for PostScript devices, including the LaserWriter. devps includes the font program for requested non-resident PostScript fonts as part of the print stream that is sent to the printer. The font downloading mechanism works with Adobe Type 1 and Type 3 fonts. devps is a commercial product that is available for UNIX and MS-DOS systems.
