In my machine the 2620 board is just a shade on the long side for the case
and over time it has a tendency to work itself loose.  The effects of this
can be; 1. Unexplained intermittent crashes or 2. An inablility to boot.

Open your case, remove the 2620 board and put it back (firmly) in its slot.
I'll lay even money that your problems will vanish.
