I have hard drives on my Amiga and make this assigment at power up: assign fonts: DH1:fonts after that everything works fine. It takes Dpaint along time to get the font list, because there's about 8 Meg of usable fonts (non scalable of course). Try making that assignment or using the fonts of the disk you booted. It's worth a try. (I wonder if it takes more RAM than you have to list all those fonts. nah.)
