I'm sorry if my casual and imprecise manner of writing has caused umprage. Let me take this opportunity to expand on my statements. REXX syntax and structure is based on that of PL/I, which is fine. Most of the REXX users I know are IBM mainframe types, and that's where I got the "mini PL/I" phrase. TCL is more like a cross between AWK and Lisp, in that context. And AWK in turn is a baby C.
