Any others? Message-ID: <9002281721.AA11214@umix.cc.umich.edu> Date: 28 Feb 90 17:59:57 GMT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Organization: Ecole Polytechnique, Lab PMI Lines: 23 There were several messages during December about 3rd party sources for memory. I only saw responses for Clearpoint, also Dilog/Clearpoint (a redistributor?). 3rd party, I don't know--I've heard it said that Apollo here in France buys its memory from Clearpoint, and there's not much of a difference in the price. Are there any other 3rd party sources? A supplier which (unlike Clearpoint) which DOESN'T have a distributor in Europe might be more interesting, so we could buy direct from the U.S. Prices tend to go up a lot more when things come here in the hands of distributors instead those of FedExpress. We need to buy memory for DN3000 and DN4000 workstations. If someone who has recently bought memory in the U.S. could give me some idea of the price scale, it would be interesting, and maybe a bargaining point for us. Here we have a figure near $3000 for 4 Meg (with some 20% of the difference perhaps coming from taxes).
