There used to be several manufacturers of replacement character chips for the II+. I know because I bought one -- about 9 years ago. You would be lucky to find one now, but some scrounging a some "funky" parts-oriented computer store might yield one. Alternatively, most 80-column cards do provide this functionality. I got one of these about 6 years ago. You probably need to look in the same kind of place. Alternatively, just run a "Wanted -- Apple II+ 80 Column card" ad here. I'd guess about $75. sk
