Infra-red question Keywords: Infra-red, CD player, remote control Message-ID: <510@ohs.UUCP> Date: 2 Mar 90 21:07:35 GMT Followup-To: poster Organization: Orem High School, Orem, Utah Lines: 17 ABSTRACT: I recently bought a remote-capable CD player (SONY CDP-190). I already have an HP 28S calculator which, for those of you who aren't familiar with it, has an infra-red transmitter. I would like to use my calculator as a remote control for my CD player. REQUEST: If anyone knows, please send me a list of codes (ASCII, I presume) that will control the CD player in some way. Also, I need to know what speed the CD player is expecting data, what speed the calculator is sending data, and what I can do about it. Perhaps, if they won't work together, I can build a unit to receive from my calculator and send to my CD player. Please advise me about the feasibility of this task and its cost. Thanks, but please e-mail a response. Brian T. Hill, ohs!bhil@uunet.UU.NET, bhil@ohs.UUCP
