Connects directly to the DIO-II backplane, must be the topmost expander (i.e., only one is possible). The HP 98646A DIO-to-VME Adapter interfaces from a DIO-I slot to a standalone VME card cage (which you provide). The HP 98242B can be used to convert the upper-most DIO-II slot in an SPU or Expander to a DIO-I pair (1 accessory & 1 I/O slot).
