For my needs, an IBM/PC compatible 286i machine with color (C/VGA) monitor, 1 Mb RAM and 40 Mb hard disk should be sufficient. A reputable mail order company has it available for around $1650; I'm wondering: - is that price competitive? - what alternative systems might I want to consider? - if I wait a few months are the prices likely to drop much? - what mail order places or Chicago area stores might I want to consider? - what magazines/references would be good places to check? Thanks in advance for responding. Bill Opdyke opdyke@cs.uiuc.edu
