MicroSoft, IBM, Compaq and several other OEMs each make thier OWN version of MS-DOS. I know for a fact that IBM and Compaq make enchancements to the MS version, and no doubt some other OEMs do as well. If you simply state blindly that DOS has a problem it seems to imply ALL versions and that is simply not true.
