Get a Logitech Trackman. It is the only trackball that I have found where you can drag with only one hand. Every other trackball I checked out either required two hands to drag or was very awkward with one hand. Dragging is a common "mouse" action so being able to do it well and easily is important. Logitech mice have proven to be very MS compatible and my Trackman works with all my software.
