With DAs, at least, this can be a handy way to get around the system limit of 15 DAs. (And it's a bit cheaper than Suitcase, Font/DA Juggler, et. al.). If you have a DA that is specific to a particular application (like the version of Word Finder distributed with MS Word) you can free up one of your precious 15 slots by putting it in the application, rather than the System. Another example is the ``MAUG Forums DA'' which lists all the areas in MAUG on CompuServe (so you can figure out where you want to go while the meter isn't ticking). Since it's communications-related, why not put it in your communications program? Voila!
