Does anyone know of either a method or product that allows one to make
the text cursor in Microsoft Word (or anything, for that matter, but
Word in particular) larger and/or more visible?

Naturally Microsoft doesn't play by the rules, so even if it were
easy to patch TEIdle to do the trick, I don't think it would work
in word.
