Lines: 21 Since what you really want is to read a number of file formats, have you investigated Claris' XTND technology? It allows you to access multiple file translator code modules from your program, and gives you the data in simple packages. Limits are pretty much those of MacWrite II: Word files don't include table or absolute positioning of graphics, only one set of left and right headers and footers, etc. Claris seems open to suggestion (hi Mike & Hank!) about adding information to the interchange format. I think Apple is also doing some work on interchange file formats, but haven't heard any specifics. Anyone want to add info? No need to make us wait till May :-) I'm going to start on XTND for EndNote as soon as my boss lets me... -- -- Help me justify my online bills: ask me EndNote questions, please! -- Avi Rappoport 2000 Hearst, Berkeley, CA 94709 nilesinc@well.sf.ca.us, 415-655-6666 Niles.Assoc on AppleLink fax: 415-649-8179
