Re the tone recognition routines, are they sensitive to instrument type? Can
they distinguish between more that one tone present?

Some years ago I looked into these problems (never at the code level) and the 
problems in instament recognition and tracking in a multi instrument 
environment were pretty heavy.  Have you extended your research into these
areas and if so how have you done.


For the rest of the news group.  Has anyone else done anything in this area
or in automated transcription of mutili instrument recorded performance?
